Tim Wong
Director, Natural Gas Strategy and Engagement Branch, Alberta Energy
Tim is currently the Director of Value Add, Logistics and Environment in the Natural Gas Strategy and Engagement group at Alberta Energy. He leads a team that is responsible for carrying out the ambitions set out in Alberta’s Natural Gas Vision and Strategy – specifically on the potential growth pathways of Alberta industrial demand, petrochemical manufacturing and plastics circular economy.
Tim obtained his BSc. (mathematics, computing sciences and statistics) from the University of Alberta and has over 17 years of government experience with the Alberta Public Service (APS) working at Energy and Advanced Education. In his time with Alberta Energy, he has led several teams on various resource policy initiatives including conventional oil, coal, minerals, oil sands and natural gas. His experience in strategy development and execution includes the international energy strategy, climate polices, and oversight of ministerial international engagements/missions.
