Call for Posters

On Wednesday, March 11, 2025, the Alberta Plastics Recycling Association (APRA) will host its annual one-day conference, Alberta Circular Plastics Day (ACPD), at the University of Calgary.

ACPD focuses on the future of plastics circularity and brings together stakeholders from across the plastics value chain in Alberta and across Canada, including industry, government, researchers, and innovators.

As part of the program, APRA will host an academic poster session. We invite students and academics with plastics-related research projects or circular economy initiatives to submit a poster for consideration.

Poster session details

Posters should be set up by 9:00 a.m. and remain in place until 3:30 p.m. (with the option to remain up through the networking reception at 5:00 p.m.).

Poster presenters are welcome to attend conference sessions and return to their posters during exhibit viewing, lunch, and networking breaks.

Student poster presenters will be admitted free of charge.

Non-student academics selected to present will be required to register at the standard conference rate.

How to submit

Please submit the following for consideration:

  • Poster title
  • Short abstract

The submission deadline is Tuesday, February 3rd. Applicants will be notified of selection by February 20th.

Additional event information, including early registration details, is available here:
https://albertaplasticsrecycling.com/acpd-2026-program/

A limited number of student passes are also available. Students interested in attending may submit a short email outlining their interest to info@albertaplasticsrecycling.com.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. We appreciate your consideration and hope you will join us at ACPD. Info@albertaplasticsrecycling.com

About APRA

The Alberta Plastics Recycling Association (APRA) is a not-for-profit organization advancing Alberta’s transition to a sustainable plastics circular economy. We believe Alberta can lead the way in building a plastics circular economy—one where materials are valued, waste is designed out, and business and the environment thrive together. For more than three decades, APRA has united industry, government, and community partners to strengthen collaboration across the plastics value chain—driving both economic growth and environmental stewardship. As a trusted partner and source of insight, APRA facilitates the exchange of information, fosters innovation, and supports initiatives that keep plastics in use and out of landfills. The organization has helped establish recycling programs for materials such as used oil containers, milk jugs, and expanded polystyrene (EPS) and is championing agricultural plastics recycling and new circular solutions.
