We are pleased to welcome Janine Kruse, who is joining APRA as our Program and Advocacy Consultant.

“Janine will help APRA build our 2026-2028 Strategic Plan we launched in the fall of 2025,” commented Wendy Wright, APRA’s President. “We’re excited to grow the organization with a greater focus on advocacy and programs for our members.”

Janine brings a depth of municipal experience and a professional background rooted in public service. In her previous role with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, much of her work focused on advancing the organization’s strategic priorities related to building and strengthening relationships with Indigenous and rural community partners.

This work informed the development of various reports, policies, and programs and required a strong understanding of how policy, people, and priorities intersect. Janine brings a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to her work and supports informed decision-making and constructive engagement across diverse stakeholder groups.

“I’m excited to contribute to APRA’s work to advance plastics circularity in Alberta,” remarked Janine. “I look forward to collaborating with partners and meeting APRA members.”
